Arctic Museum Hotel

The project explores how architecture can become a vessel for landscape, art, and human experience. Inspired by Sami beliefs that every place, element of nature, and even language possesses its own spirit, the design brings together a museum and a boutique hotel within a single architectural form, dissolving the boundaries between exhibition, hospitality, and everyday life.

Organised around a linear spine extending from west to east, the building follows the footprint of the existing structure, preserving its relationship with the landscape while reinterpreting it through a new architectural language. Galleries, terraces, bridges, and public spaces unfold as a continuous journey, where carefully framed views, changing Arctic light, and the surrounding landscape become integral parts of the visitor experience.

Rather than existing as an object within the landscape, the building becomes an extension of it, creating a place where architecture, nature, and culture are experienced as a single, continuous narrative.
