The project explores how a public building can mediate between city, park, and river. Situated at the confluence of the Rhône and Arve, the new canoe club forms the threshold to a new public park while preserving visual and physical continuity across the site.
Rather than occupying the landscape as a barrier, the building acts as a filter. Its compact volume is carefully positioned, rotated, and articulated to maximise permeability, while a subtle displacement between the lower and upper levels creates terraces, public viewing platforms, and distinct circulation sequences for visitors, athletes, and service functions.
Architecture and landscape are conceived as a continuous public realm, allowing the building to reinforce rather than dominate its exceptional setting, where civic life, recreation, and nature converge.
