The project explores how a dense residential development can respond to a steep hillside while preserving both views and privacy. Twenty villas are positioned in relation to the natural topography, using changes in level to minimise visual overlap and prevent the houses from obstructing one another’s views. Vehicular circulation is kept to a minimum, allowing the landscape to remain central to the character of the development.
Each villa is folded at a deliberate angle, turning inward to create a protected private outdoor space while selectively opening towards the surrounding landscape. The buildings sit above stone retaining walls that anchor the development into the slope and organise the gardens into a sequence of terraces at different levels, each with its own degree of enclosure and use.
Roof and façades are wrapped in standing-seam metal as a continuous envelope, reinforcing each villa as a single sculpted volume. The result is a hillside settlement shaped by topography, controlled views, and spatial privacy.
