The project transforms an existing post office building from the 1980s into a boutique hotel, choosing adaptation over demolition. The original structure was stripped back to its primary concrete frame, allowing the existing building to be reconsidered through a new spatial and volumetric organisation rather than simply refurbished.
Working within this retained structure, the massing was reshaped to accommodate the new hospitality programme while breaking down the scale of the former institutional building. Pitched roof profiles, textured masonry, timber elements, balconies, and screens reinterpret the material and architectural character of the village without directly reproducing its traditional forms.
The result establishes a dialogue between the retained structure and a new architectural identity, extending the life of an existing building while reconnecting it to the scale, materiality, and roofscape of its setting.
